Features

Starting Side

On the Starting Side of the tool the starting groove is smaller and doesn't go all the way through the tool.  For your convenience are included measuring grooves.  As shown in the diagram, you can measure 5mm, 10mm or 15mm as a convenient reference for spacing between knots.  Of course you don't need to use this feature at all, it has just been included in case it may be useful to you.

Finish Side

On the Finish Side the groove is much larger and passes completely through the tool.

How To Use

    1. Place the cordage in the starting groove on the starting side of the tool.

      2. Wrap your cordage around the tool as you normally do for a barrel knot, carefully making sure that the first loop crosses your starting line as you wrap towards the tip of the tool.

The number of wraps determines the length of your barrel knot.

       3. Tuck then end of your cordage through the Finishing Groove and pull the knot tight on the tool

Viewed from the starting side of the tool you can see where the wraps cross over and the nice orderly wraps

      4. Slide the tool out and tighten up your knot carefully so it doesn't cross over on itself and so it finishes where you want it.  For doing closely spaced knots, around 5mm apart it often helps to start the wraps about halfway down the tool instead of near the end.

It's just that easy!  No more wrapping cordage around your finger and trying to tighten the knot while trying to keep it from flipping and messing up.
